Nowra Players Donates to Slice of Life

slice of life

Karen Anstiss, founder of Slice of Life Australia addressed the July meeting, to thank Nowra Players for our
donation to this very worthy cause.

SOLA began in May 2006, with two hearing impaired people, and
aims to train people with disabilities, to work in catering and hospitality. A major aim of the organisation
is to increase self-esteem and confidence in their workers. They have a general store in Illaroo Road at
North Nowra, and also run Reflections Cafe at Shoalhaven Memorial Gardens and Lawn Cemetery, at
Worrigee. Their latest venture is a sustainable living program at Terara, where it can expand employment,
training and work experience opportunities for people, in horticulture and animal husbandry.
We are so pleased to have been able to support such a worthwhile venture.
